Multidisciplinary environment
Input from several specialities - endocrinology, anaesthetics, radiology, pathology and oncology, in collaboration with an experienced endocrine surgeon will ensure correct pre-operative planning and effective post-operative care.
High-volume surgical practice
Recent guidance form the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons advises adrenal surgery to be concentrated in centres doing at least 6-12 cases/year. In Oxford we perform 70-80 adrenals operations per year (some 10% or more of the workload of the entire UK).
The entire spectrum of adrenal operations
Depending on the size of the tumour, its position and any concerns related to malignancy, a decision will be made regarding
the most effective surgical approach, with a choice between key-hole operation (from the front or from the back) or an open operation.
